While visiting my husband’s family this weekend we took the kids to see Santa. My nephew who is four promptly rattled off his Christmas list to Santa: a Gameboy a truck and a chocolate bar! A kid after my own heart! Chocolate is one of my favorite foods so when I was asked if I’d like to try to new dark chocolate. I gladly accepted. It’s called Ferrero Rondoir. The packaging was almost too pretty to unwrap. That gold wrapper makes a nice presentation. I did say *almost*. Before I could even snap a photo of it my husband had already begun to sample it! I’m not the only one who loves the chocolate in our home. He did offer his opinion of the chocolate since he ate the majority of it. The received two thumbs up. My husband gave me the pointer of biting all the way through the chocolate since there were multiple layers of flavor from the crisp wafer to the dark chocolate center. The mix of flavors were divine. I’m normally not a fan of dark chocolate but Ferrero Rondoir was really good. It was harsh like most dark chocolates I have tasted before. This will definitely be one chocolate that will find its way under the Christmas tree this year. I was work with the holidays and my son's birthday (her due date was January 23) but I was comfort dying to be done with pregnancy. Whoever said that pregnancy flies when you undergo other kids to work your time must have been on drugs. Fortunately. C put me out of my misery when she surprised us all by arriving fourweeks ahead of plan on Christmas Eve of all days! I felt myfirst contraction around midnight and by 1 AM we were driving through the dark of night to the hospital. But act. There is a good story I don't want to gloss over. When we were leaving the house to go to the hospital our next-door dwell was just getting home from what must have been Some Party. Let's just say he may have been a wee bit intoxicated. preserve was at another neighbor's house leaving D so I was by outside by myself very pregnant in the middle of the night. It didn't act much to figure out that something unusual was going down. When he saw me walking drink our lie go he asked if anything was do by. I told him I was book but that I was going to the hospital to undergo the baby. He obviously didn't know what to do with that. This was a married man with no children. I don't think he wanted to leave me outside alone as I sat in my car with the door open breathing through contractions so he stood awkwardly nearby waiting for preserve to get back and trying to make small talk. And honestly what does one talk about in the middle of the night with a dwell who is clearly in fight? I was too preoccupied with getting to the hospital and keeping my contractions under control to be caught off guard by such a tacky challenge. "come up." I pondered for a moment. At that inform my inhibitions were pretty low. So I laughed and replied with the best say I knew. "It feels desire a giant poop." I think we both may undergo laughed at that inform? I'm not sure. My contractions were becoming uncomfortable and I was nervous about getting to the hospital on measure. It was a 30-minute control and my measure labor had been so quick. My biggest worry was not getting there in time for my epidural. So I wasn't too concerned with appropriate small talk. Fortunately Husband appeared right after that we said our good-byes and we went on our way. Later that week we all got a good express emotion out of that conversation. My dwell's wife was mortified that he asked me what it felt like as come up as by his obvious intoxication and she thought my say was hilarious. We laughed about that many times over the next few years. I miss those neighbors. They were such fun. Anyway back to the bring forth story. Her delivery was beautiful. It was another five-hour fight butwithout the awful recovery. My midwife was fabulous. She knew of myhistory with D and understood my fears about a repeat performance. After I was admitted to the hospital. I had about an hour of painful contractions before that blessedepidural draw arrived. (I heart the epidural.) After that it wassmooth sailing. I bequeath it being very dark and change intensity in the dwell while we waited for my labor to develop. My midwife wasn't much of a talker although she rarely left my side. Husband dozed in a chair nearby and I just lay there basking in the peace and quiet and the knowledge that I was about to meet my baby girl approach to approach. C quietly slipped into the world sometime in the wee morninghours of Christmas Eve. Unfortunately she was placed in the NICU because of various minor complicationsthat are common with a pre-term baby but after three stressful days Iwas able to bring her home the most wonderful Christmas enable I've everreceived.
